Virat Kohli (born 5 November 1988) is an Indian cricketer and former captain of the Indian national team. He is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen in the history of cricket and has broken numerous records in both limited-overs and Test cricket.

Early life and education

Virat Kohli was born in Delhi to Prem and Saroj Kohli. He has an older sister, Bhavna, and an older brother, Vikash. Kohli attended Saviour Convent in Delhi, where he began playing cricket at a young age. He joined the West Delhi Cricket Academy and honed his skills under the guidance of his coach, Rajkumar Sharma.

Domestic career

Kohli made his debut for Delhi in the 2006 Ranji Trophy and quickly made a name for himself as a talented young batsman. His performances in domestic cricket led to his selection for the Indian national team.
